The National Park has inherited a fragile, peri-urban environment marked by the legacy of heavy industry. Urbanisation, tourism, mistreatment, climate change and invasive exotic species are just some of the pressures that this exceptional place has to face. With the help of local authorities (the Department, the towns of Marseille, Cassis, La Ciotat, etc.), of the ONF (French National Forestry Office), the Conservatoire du Littoral (Coastal Conservatory) and Ademe, the Calanques National Park is taking action to combat these threats.
