Roe dear

This small-sized deer has a browny red coat in the summer and a dark grey one in winter.

The white mark that it has on its hind is heart-shaped on females and two bean-shaped on males. This herbivore feeds mainly on young, tender shoots, acorns and leaves.

Did you know?

The roe deer is quite a discrete animal but during the mating season, it barks very loudly. Its bark is like that of a dog.
