The Calanques, as a peri-urban, tourist, and formerly industrial area, is subject to several types of pollution that make it vulnerable. With the help of local authorities (the Department, the towns of Marseille, Cassis, La Ciotat...), the ONF, the Conservatoire du Littoral and Ademe, the Calanques National Park takes action to combat pollution. The National Park was created in 2012 to improve the resilience of this exceptional environment, and has already achieved encouraging results.
