The Natural History Museum

This museum exhibits past and present species and ecosystems native to Provence and the Calanques. Closed Mondays.

 

 

 

Archaeology museums

Three museums: History, Mediterranean archaeology, and Roman docks, retrace the history of the Phocaean city and the Mediterranean with over one hundred multimedia devices and several thousand exhibits. Some of them are from the Calanques, including from underwater wrecks. Closed Mondays.

The Mucem

This big national museum focuses on Mediterranean cultures. With Fort Saint-Jean installations and the permanent exhibition at J4, the museum addresses local issues for the Calanques area. Closed Tuesdays.

 

 

 

Fine Art Museums

The four art museums: Beaux-Arts, Cantini, Regards de Provence, and Granet feature works illustrating the calanques and surrounding hills. The collections include many Provençal School and modern art paintings. Closed Mondays.

The Mediterranean Museum in Cassis

This museum retraces popular Calanques arts and traditions with archaeological, ethnographic, and fine arts collections. Open from Wednesday to Saturday.
