Common predatory bush cricket

Description

This cricket is one of the biggest in Europe. It can measure up to 17 centimetres in length and does not had wings. Its long legs have spines allowing it to capture crickets and young grasshoppers on which it feeds. It can be found from June onwards and up until autumn.

Did you know?

Only females are found in western Europe. They reproduce without males, through asexual reproduction, and only females hatch from the eggs.
